Earlier this month, Marcus Goodwin became the latest player to win big through the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot, netting an $11,633,898 prize.
One thing that immediately stands out about Goodwin — aside from the sheer amount of money that he won — is how open he was about his identity following the windfall. Goodwin posted a video on his YouTube account regarding the win, which you can see at the bottom.
He also spoke to the online casino where he won at, saying the following:
“This is obviously life changing! I cannot believe it! I will definitely be buying a nice big house and a vacation cottage! And taking my entire family on a first class trip to Africa! This will mean great Christmas presents for everyone!”
Goodwin is the fourth person to win Microgaming’s Mega Moolah jackpot this year, and his $11.63 million payout ranks as the largest online slots prize in 2016.
But one distinction that Goodwin can’t take is the biggest online slots payout of all time.
This belongs to UK soldier Jonathan Heywood, who won a record-£13.2 million (approx. $20m) in October 2015.
It’s highly doubtful that Goodwin cares where his slots payout ranks in the annals of history, though. He seems more excited about sharing his wealth through the form of Christmas presents, and taking his family on the aforementioned trip to Africa.
One interesting note about Goodwin is that he doesn’t even play online slots very much. Instead, he plays Mega Moolah occasionally for entertainment.
But as his $11.63 million payout shows, anybody can get lucky with internet slots, no matter how frequently they play.
